Export Plot
Plotagon’s Export Plot function serves as a “Save As” feature for your video scripts, which you can use either to create a backup of your script for archiving purposes, or to create a version that you can send to another Plotagon Studio user to import and continue working on the script.
The Export Plot function will turn the script, any customized characters that appear in the script, and any voice recordings into a single file that you can save with the “.plot” extension.
To export your script from the Plot Gallery:
Locate the script in the Plot Gallery.
Click the three dots below the thumbnail image.
Click the text “Export plot”.
Click the text “Confirm”.
Give your file a name and save it to your computer’s hard drive.
To export your script from the Manuscript Editor:
Click the Export plot button.
Click the text “Confirm”.
Give your file a name and save it to your computer’s hard drive.
Note that for copyright reasons, the Export Plot function does not include imported music or sound effects. You should back up these files separately and share them with colleagues (who have the same third-party permissions as you) with instructions of where to import this content.
Import a script
To import a script that you or another Plotagon Studio user has created, utilize the Import Plot function. To import a script from the Plot Gallery, click the Import plot button and browse your computer’s hard drive for the .plot file.
Upon successful import, the Manuscript Editor will open so you can begin work on this new version.
By default, the new script will have the original name with “(copy)” appended. To give this version a new name, return to the Plot Gallery, click the three dots again and select the text “Rename Plot”.
